Actually Amana did not invent the Radar Range Raytheon Corpdid and they sold the first ones for use in resturants in 1947 as the Raytheon Radar Range. In 1955 Tappan introduced the first microwave oven for home use but it was not called a microwave oven it was called an electronic oven and it resided in the wall like a regular wall oven. Hotpoint and RCA Whirlpool soon followed introducing their models by 1956.
